These days the mantra for real estate industry is “theme townships.” These are very much evident by the plethora of huge hoardings that stare at you while you are on the move, like a home on the bank of the Ganges or an abode facing sea beaches etc.

According to a senior official of real estate firm, who is into building townships, said townships based on themes are a major draw with people. Like, the spiritual angle has always attracted tourists coming to India.

He also accepted the fact that, it is also a marketing initiative that only helps like-minded people settle together at a place that they like the most. While the developers get confirmed customers on whom they can spend more time helping them find their dream abodes. This “theme township” fever is catching up all across the country.

For Baba Ramdev’s ardent followers, there is Geetanjali residency located next to Swami Ramdev’s Patanjali Yog Peeth outside Haridwar. Where as, AIPL’s Tridev city is all set to develop a chain of villas in the same city.

For those who believe in having a spiritual dip in river Ganga in Rishikesh have AEZ Group’s Aloha complex to scout for their abode. And to provide the flavor and feel of Hawaii’s beaches in Gurgaon, the same company is building a township in Gurgaon.

In down south, with an eye on NRIs, who would like to spend some holidays or who would like to settle down in the pious town of Tirupati-- abode of Lord Venkateswara, for them the Tirupati Urban Development Authority is planning a township in Surappakasam village that will cover an area of 145 acres.
