India Realty Show at Dubai evokes serious NRI interestTuesday, January 17, 2012
The three-day India Realty Show 2012 organized by the Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI), at Dubai over the last week-end has evoked an enthusiastic response from among serious property buyers. As many as 8,400, NRIs walked into the mega exhibition hosted by MCHI, the representative body of Indian developers and builders from Mumbai, suburbs and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Held at Hotel, Crown Plaza Deira - Dubai, this was the 15th edition of MCHI's Property Show - arguably, India 's only 'official' Property show abroad. As one of the leading association of real estate developers, MCHI is always at the forefront of things new and positive. In furthering this goal, MCHI has brought in self regulation in form of the Ethical Code of Conduct, said Mr. Paras Gundecha - President, MCHI. "The logical next step after this for MCHI was setting up a Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, with the aim of attending to property buyers' complaints, specific to properties bought from its members at an MCHI Property Show. This is a step which is truly unique: MCHI has looked at home buyers' problems and has taken this initiative that will add to the safety and security factor for property buyers, be they resident Indians or NRIs. MCHI's property events look forward to potential buyers of Indian property being able to buy Indian property in a safe and secure environment, with the safe and secure factor, given the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, an initiative that effectively takes the 'safe and secure factor' to a different level," added Paras Gundecha. Speaking about MCHI's India Realty Show 2012, Dubai, Mr. Boman Irani - Hon. Secretary, MCHI, said, "It was a win-win scenario. The foreign currency scenario has created a 'advantage: NRI" situation for NRIs, as they get the advantage of a favourable exchange rate, which translates into more Indian Rupees for them, given the exchange rate since the past few weeks. "We have seen Non Resident Indians from the U.A.E. as also the G.C.C. showing willingness to make huge investments in Indian property, with many of our members in the past through our previous exhibitions, and this has encouraged all our members to sustain their marketing efforts in this market. MCHI is happy that the NRI investments have become very constant." MCHI has received excellent response from NRIs in Dubai and the UAE who participated in the event, said Mr. Bandish Ajmera - Chairman, Exhibition Committee - MCHI. "Right from the event's inauguration at the hands of Mr B Rajagopalan, Head of Chancery, Indian Embassy, Abu Dhabi on January 12 2012, wherein he extended best wishes to MCHI and the developers who were participating in the event - his wishes came true," said Bandish Ajmera. "We had Dr Ram Buxani, eminent business leader of Indian origin at the event inauguration, he had expressed a wish that the event would be a helping hand for NRIs who are looking at buying a 'home, back home' - ands this too, came true," he added. MCHI also organized 'India Happening': A Knowledge Event, a Seminar for NRIs in Dubai, U.A.E., on issues related to Indian Property on the eve of the property show. Iti was addressed by two legal and taxation experts from Mumbai and had a Dubai-based NRI as the Guest Speaker: Dr. Ram Buxani, Chairman, ITL Group, Dubai, U.A.E., Adv. Mr K. K. Ramani of K.K.Ramani & Co, Mumbai, India and Adv. Mr Hari Raheja, associated with the chamber of D.M.Harish & Co, Mumbai, India addressed the gathering. 'India Happening' was a live, interactive learning experience - and it was a grand success, said Ms Manju Yagnik - Co-chairperson, MCHI. "NRIs who attended the same had the opportunity of learning from professionals who spoke about relevant topics through user-friendly presentations. The NRI's who attended 'India Happening' were able to interact with and obtain responses from the legal experts. A key feature of 'India Happening' was its interactive element, which facilitated sharing of information, and participation in the discussions." Mr. Zubin Mehta, CEO, MCHI added, "MCHI's India Realty Show 2012, Dubai, was 'official', and this was reflected in the response by NRIs. The interest level amongst NRIs has increased many-fold in the past few months. NRIs have benefited immensely through MCHI's exhibitions, which are the only official Property exhibitions held worldwide and have bought peace of mind by making the right choice in purchasing properties from our shows. We are proud that we have played a key role in facilitating such a process for the NRI community at large and we strive for bettering the same." The MCHI Assurance: MCHI ensures complete transparency and assurance to the customers throughout the entire transaction and guarantee them the amenities and specifications as promised during the deal. In the event of any dispute regarding any booking done at MCHI's Property Show, the consumer can approach MCHI to assist them in resolving the same.
